Im BACK!!!!

Alright so after a short lull in posts, I a back. My hiatus is due to the fact that our computer was 19 years old and coughed up micro chips every time you asked it to do something. But now...We just got a new computer that is from the '10s and we have wireless. I am surprised Patrick waited this long for our house to be wireless. It must have been making his skin crawl. Me on the other hand, if he hadnt come along I would prob fall in line with my family and be about ten years behind on the answering machine fad.

So some things have happened since March. The main thing is this bird went and got engaged! Patrick took me to Hannibal for our two year anniversary and he proposed to me! We had just checked in to our b&b and after hearing a rousing speech from the Inn Keeper about how marriage just isnt for everyone, Patrick couldnt wait to ask me to marry him :).

So we are planning a wedding...for 13 months from now. I wish it was a little sooner just because I cant wait to get married to my best friend! Whew wedding planning is a lot of stuff.

Jenny from the block

Who knew a girl from queens would grow up to work in investments and pass her 6? This J-Lo did. the lights almost went out in those ten seconds between the finish click and the pass score. Take that Mrs. Sampson. Next time you tell someone not to be friends with me, maybe you should look in your crystal ball and make sure I am not managing your investments..(disclaimer: I am not a investment advisor and pass returns are not indicative of future results). So now my life is back on. I missed out on some choice parties because of you "6" you were a worthy adversary.
So this is some Jank that has been going on...finally got Patrick to watch Blind Side and he loved it, fell asleep in Sherlock Holmes and still gave Sherlock Holmes a better rating then Blind Side..I will get him to touch and feel his touchy feely side if it is the last thing I do. Been grilling alot with the warmer weather..Hellllo grilled pineapple we love you, don't be a stranger, been working on my wedding body for the Landzaat Callahan extravaganza...have a couple of dresses in my closet which one had the lucky job of hiding my winter weight?? Ladies??? Sundance is in shedding season...a husky plus warmer weather plus scared of a brush = groomers nightmare. Sorry petsmart. Saw the Beatles Live in concert. They don't age. Watched some baseball, some treme, and some modern family, and attended one of the longest baseball games in history...22 innings...left in the 13th because of a rich nerd who never realized that having money or a young trophy wife doesn't make you engaging, charming, insightful or even considerate, it just makes you old fat and well uncomfortable. Enjoyed a couple bottles of Moscato some warm porch weather and the Morganford bridge being closed.
Bring it on Summer. So far we have a B-day for "Shorty" and Tim M.F. Williams, a Trip to Hannibal, a float trip, a niece, a grandpa bday, a 31 sil bday, a 64 wedding anniversary, a famdam trip to the cabin, a romantic weekend in Hermann and a wedding for Mel! We are taking applications for sitters for cookie and sundance.

How fabulous am I?

So am I kidding myself with believing that i will one day not be working a 9 to 5 but have some sort of personally created thing baby project that I have the talent perseverance and know how to grow up? Who cares! I am doing this because I love it! I have fun everyday. I have two projects on board for this weekend so i am expecting you to hold me to them. Got it. I have to leave at 12 to go home and check on Gumm..er Cookie! Still having problems getting her name right...word to the wise for all you new parents out there...Don't change your kids names after you have named them and called them that for a couple of days...I am still correcting O.B.C. when he calls her Gummy Bear...oh yeah..Did I mention that we changed her name? Pat said she would end up just going by Gummy...and that is weird..it makes me think of a senior citizen without their dentures in.
We have sewing tonight and we are finishing our pants...well mine ended up being Capri's, but any who...who's measuring? I can only wonder what the Jonas Brothers will show up in...last week it was an outfit complete with a Fedora. Now do I need to remind them that they are in the basement home ec room of a high school? OR maybe it is hidden camera project runway and the joke is on us?
This weekend it is supposed to be super nice so we (pat) are dragging out the ol bbq pit and having a little hoe down Saturday weather permitting It is going to be a rocking party, O.B.C., Me, Sundance and Gumm..er Cookie!

What in the heck is deadwood and why am I forced to watch it?

Well it has been a very eventful last couple of days. Cleaned house, went grocery shopping, painted a chalkboard in my kitchen (pictures to follow) and gave virtual birth to a puppy, among other things. She came home on Thursday night and we couldn't be happier! She had a couple of accidents but on the whole good first night...enjoyed a bottle of wine Friday night and wait a fracken second who knew that puppies need to get up regardless of how sleepy you are? So Saturday and Sunday woke up VERY early but ended up being very productive...not sure if the chalkboard idea came out of lack of sleep but I like it, so maybe if I stop sleeping I will be the most creative me: the only question...is the mania worth it? See like right now, I just don even know what I am saying who am I Howard Hughes?

So you know your frugality is starting to rub off on someone when you come home from Shop n Save with laundry detergent that isn't off brand and you O.B.C. says Whoa why did you buy this stuff.

Hey did catch the Olympics? No, me either. I am just not one for sports, and Pat didn't have a real big interest in them this year, and because I barely pay attention to what is on, I didn't turn them on. Apparently they were good. I am not one much for television conversation. Because of the not watching it and all...I still remember when I first started at my work, sitting in the lunch room and telling the table I didn't really watch shows or keep up with t.v. and getting stared at. I now don't really say anything about my lack of interest in T.V. but it is still there world. Tomorrow I have bootcamp that should be funny. I tried on clothes today and realized that my mirror is lying to me so my goal is to make it 50 minutes. (the length of the class)...lofty.

More later...
I promise. I have to show you all my chalkboard cabinet! I love being a home owner! I could paint Redrum in blood all over my walls and no one can evict me!...except Pat...

Are the hair gods punishing me?

Maybe it was because I said I was a blonde when I wasn't, maybe it was because I dyed my hair with Kool-aid, Peroxide, and Sun-in? Maybe it was because I never cut it? Maybe it is because when I cant find my hairbrush I dont brush it...(cringe) Maybe it is because I washed it with the cheapest shampoo I could find? Maybe it is because I just wash on it and sleep on it wet? But SOMETHING is not right here! I have a HUGE perma rats nest in the back of my head that has been popping up no matter how many times I have brushed it (thanks to a little help from Kristen's travel hairbrush). I gave up trying a long time ago to have commercial hair and resigned my self to the fact that some people just dont have hair they can tie in knots or reflects like a mirror. But is that possible? Should I put that on my list of things to tackle in 2010? Regular hair maintenance? Jean do they still do Hot oil treatments? If so, book me, and by book me make sure Tony isnt in my seat.
More later...O.B.C. has a concert tonight and PROMISED me he wouldn't be out late..haha! I am sleeping in the guesty pre-emptively. He snores when he has had too much fun and it is no fun for this 9-5 er...or 7-4er actually.

Drumroll pat!

There she is. A thing of beauty is a treasure forever. My first thing I ever made all on my own. Well yes I am being dramatic, but I am a proud mama. I brought her home last wednesday, placed her on her thrown and check on her from time to time to see if she needs to be fanned or wants more grapes. This Wednesday is pajama pants or depending on how much we understand about pattern pinning, it will probally be laying out said pajama pants. I will make O.B.C. model them for you. I actually was thinking about making him some zubaz pants for his party this summer. Not that I condone it, just want him to look fabulous...came across a pattern that I think, while is not neon zebra print, his friends would accept. Wolves. just wolves growing out of others wolves manes, brown wolves, grey wolves, white wolves. Who buys this stuff? I wonder what it would be like if I enjoyed that print, or other outdoor/ simple life prints. Would I, in fact, own wolves? Or enjoy Busch beer at 5 oclock every night? Have every episode of the Jeff Foxworthy show on VHS? Would my house be on cinder blocks? Would I have a house? Or would I not care for any of that. As long as I had a place to hang my wolf print coat and a place to lay my lump.

Thanks for the memories, Megan

Well here i go. With a little nudging from a fellow blogger, who doesnt blag all that much. I have been encouraged to try this out. I have been telling pat now for two months that i wanted a planner or a journal or something-even almost bought a jokey like life planner on our high school date (not that i would have ever know what THAT felt like) but decided against it because, while i have been calling 2010 my creative year, i am cheap..in fact too cheap to but a planner or journal...hello free journal...well yes, everyone can read it but i am a pretty open person and anything i dont tell you openly you cane get out of me over a beer and a cigarette. Anyway here it goes. Now things to talk about for my first blog...hmm...what is going on in my life right now...My borfriend and i decided to buy a house together in September after dating a little over a year...I know that doesnt seem like a lot of time, but when you get tired of paying for yourself you will understand...:)
Patrick (that is my ball and chain) and I have decided to rent/ adopt a puppy. He already had a dog from a previous relationship of four people and two dogs...his house was more like a commune...and Sundance is just plane..or is it plain...sad. So, Turkey are you ready?? I know i sure am. Just a small list of favors. Please...
1. Dont chew up my couch...anyone have tips on that? (by anyone I mean Pat or Megan...my two Loyal Readers)
2. Please dont wake me up by starring at me in the middle of the night..i know that is more of a cujo thing, but hey you never know...
Lets see what else
Please
3. Be cute and let me put clothes on you so you can set a good example for Sundance who i have to chase around the house with even a brush.
4. Pleas kindly tap me on the shoulder when you have any bodily fluid or solid..that is coming out.
Other than that please keep Sundance company! I am afraid i am going to come home one night and find him barking at his shadow or chasing his tail.

Also a side note...i dont apologize for typos...ttyl.
